Actress (Sarandon) attacks Oscars

The Hollywood star Susan Sarandon has attacked the Oscars, accusing organisers of trying to "control" the event right down to what winners do with their awards.
Sarandon, 56, one of Hollywood's most committed activists and a Left-leaning liberal, also condemned media coverage of the Iraq war. Broadcasters treated it like a "reality TV show" and should be ashamed, she told Radio Times magazine. Sarandon, who won a best actress Oscar for Dead Man Walking and who has been nominated four other times, was temporarily banned from the Academy Awards ceremony after she and her longtime boyfriend, the actor Tim Robbins, protested at the event in 1993 over the treatment of Haitian immigrants.
In the magazine interview she said she resented the way the organisers "make you sign a piece of paper saying you'll never sell the statuette, except back to them for $1. I changed that to 'market value'. It's only an Oscar, not sperm."

Did I miss something? Is Oscar acceptance required by US law? Or is she complaining that the movie people want movies to be popular?
Susan - stop reading scripts and read more history. You may find that your infantile need for attention isn't really that impt.

Isn't it swell that Susan Sarandon has such special insights, such a fabulous inner knowledge of what is right and what is wrong? She must feel wonderful being who she is, knowing how everything ought to be. It must be difficult for her having to live in the world with the rest of us who know so much less.
