Why don't you post some of the nutball titles, too? Not just those which SOUND reasonable. I don't oppose reading these essays merely believe putting them in the exalted status of the Federalist is ridiculous.

As far as the BoRs goes the best thinkers of that day: Hamilton and Madison, claimed it was unnecessary because the constitution didn't give the fedgov the power to violate those rights anyway. However, knowing that it was necessary to prevent the propagandists from defeating the constitution they both agreed to amendment the document after passage.

#11 was falacious since the Commerce clause was not abused until the 1930s. At any rate Hamilton always said no constitution could survive evil men if the population was somnambulent.

#12 was shown to be wrong almost immediately as the fedgov ran surpluses until Jefferson's foreign policy destroyed the revenue base.

#17 Federal power has not subverted state power any more than it should have. It is amusing to find those trying to defend state power when it has invariably been used or not used far less appropriately than federal. Look at your state legislature and tell me with a straight face it is better than Congress. Federal power has grown precisely because of the incompetence, corruption and lamebrainedness of the state governments.

#23 Indicates a lack of awareness of what Federalism means.

#26 More BS. Warrants are required for legal searches and even before the 4th the fedgov did not have those powers nor were they ever proposed.

#32 Not only did the constitution specify the powers and limits of taxation but the USSC declared extensions of that power to be unconstitutional.

#46 More falsehood. The implied powers gives Congress no ability to violate either the letter or spirit of the constitution.

#51 Checks and balances have worked well over the centuries. Compare that to an government which consisted only of Congress with no power.

#78 The Court has performed its constitutional role very well over the years. It does not control the other branches and, in fact, Congress can limit what it even considers.

That list illustrates why the antis were Losers. Hamilton ripped them to shreds, as he did anyone who tried to stand against him.

Keep believing that if it helps you feel better. The nature of your "rebuttals" indicates that I'd be wasting my time trying to get through to you.

Hamilton ripped them to shreds, as he did anyone who tried to stand against him.

Of all the founders, Hamilton was the biggest "we have nothing to fear from a powerful federal government" advocate. The fact that you idolize him so extensively says much. I think history has put his naivete into proper perspective, even if you're unable to admit it.
