I am not blaming the mother, but no one HAS to put a child in daycare. I have two nephews, one works in a movie theatre and delivers pizzas on the weekends to support his three kids and stay-at-home wife. The other works for a pool company and does it on 9.00 an hour. Work another shift. Why do two parents have to work the 9 to 5, weekends off?
If you have a child and need income, take in other kids. At least yours is safe.

Oh, Mom. I got flamed on the private schooling thread the other day by someone who justified he and his wife both having full-time jobs to send their kids to private school. I took it up the hindend by all and sundry for saying public school isn't that bad if you and spouse are both educated. We talk about school every night at the suppertable and the boys are able to challenge the silly assumptions of their teachers---and have, many times.
What's the difference? You work, male and female, when you have to work. If you had to relocate, generally for work and have no family or friends in the area, you seek out the best daycare.
Negative on taking in foster kids. That's a powder keg waiting to explode.
