Not so. In an infinite series of universes almost all of the incarnations of me ate the potato salad. Other choices I have made "trigger" the existence of other universes. A version of my life where I decided to wear a blue shirt to the picnic exists as does a version where I wore a red shirt. I ate the potato salad in both cases, among many.
