Well said. Can you imagine astronomers gathering to "debate" whether they would recognize gravity as a force of nature? If psychology does not use the scientific method, then uses political lobbying and debate in its place, how can it hope to be considered a science?
The most laughable thing of all is to see two psychologists sitting in a courtroom, arguing precisely opposing conclusions based on the same set of facts. Every time one of them speaks, there should be a laugh track.
