I know Joe personally although it’s been serveral years that I’ve had any contact with him, I AM THANKFUL TO HIM TO THIS DAY! I worked with Joe back in the early 1990’s with the Department of Environmental Protection when he was a District LE Captain (and a fine one at that). Joe helped me through a time when I was being abused by a live in boyfriend. My co-workers set it up for Joe to drive me to lunch to meet them all for lunch. It was Joe’s job to convince me to file charges against the abuser. Joe was nothing but professional and a friend in my time of need. He’s wife was also a co-worker at that time but not in my office. I hold a high regard for Joe and for what he helped me through. That time has always been a help to me and still does play a part in my life today to know I don’t have to take anyones abuse. I served with Subic in the Army. Actually, I went to pathfinder school with him. I do not say this lightly, he was embarrassment to the 82nd Airborne. He was wimpy and slimy.
We had a few troops from the elite 82nd Pathfinder Platoon and Subic from the division admin company. He was a pencil pusher as someone mentioned and unfortunately, he was not a Marine.
The Army sent him to Ft. Benning as he was getting ready for his next tour to serve in the US embassy in Iran. We speculated it was to give the pogue some badges that might give him more credibility.
He was treated like one of the foreign officers and given a free pass. He cried when he was on the rappel tower and sniveled his way to the bottom. He couldn’t keep up in the field. Soldiers from the other units taunted the rest of us from the 82nd. It was actually funny.
Just as a courtesy, I saw this thread pop up and read your reply. The original poster was a co-worker and friend of mine and unfortunately he passed away a couple years ago. Just didn’t want you to think he was ignoring you, that’s not the kind of guy he was.
How was this guy the recipient of TWO Bronze Stars?

Another interesting parallel: The “For the People” radio service by Chuck Harder was for many years also based in White Springs, Florida. Chuck Harder to this day maintains his conservative talk radio organization was infiltrated and bankrupted by the Clintons who were at the time espousing some of the same anti-gun rhetoric we’re hearing today.

Update as of 2008 on Subic, Joseph. No longer Chief of Police, now 3rd degree felon. FDLE law enforcement credentials revoked. Still Army Reserve E-7. Currently of Falls Church, VA.
