Israeli army ordered to 'wipe out' Hamas

Israeli army radio reports the army has been ordered to 'completely wipe out' the Palestinian Islamic militant group Hamas, a day after a suicide bomber killed 16 people on a Jerusalem bus.
Israeli helicopters killed nine Palestinians in strikes on militants after the bombing, leaving the US-backed peace "roadmap" in tatters.
Israeli Internal Security Minister Tzachi Hanegbi says no Hamas leader is safe.
The army order, which directs the military to use "whatever means necessary," was issued following a meeting of Defence Minister Shaul Mofaz with the army's top command shortly after the attack.
It is directed not only at the infrastructure of the organisation, but at its leadership, with everyone, "from the lowliest member to Sheikh Ahmad Yassin," a Hamas founder and its spiritual guide, as a legitimate target.
The latest round of killings and retaliations began on Tuesday, when Israeli helicopter gunships fired missiles at the car of Hamas' political leader, Abdul Aziz Rantissi, in a failed bid to kill him.
Mr Rantissi, who was lightly wounded in that attack, promised bloody revenge, which led to the bombing in Jerusalem.
It was claimed by Hamas' armed wing, the Ezzedin al-Qassam Brigades.
The Israeli Cabinet has met to consider how to respond to that attack, amid reports that ministers will again raise the question of expelling Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat from the territories.

The Heshimite tribe of arabs tried to assimulate the "palistinian" tribe of arabs and failed. Lets keep terms correct. Not distinct peoples, only tribes.

Jordan already tried to assimilate the Palestinians into Jordanian society but they wouldn't assimilate. What you meant to say was....
"Jordan already tried to assimilate the Jordanians into Jordanian society but they wouldn't assimilate."
There is no difference between a Jordanian and a Palestinian. They are one and the same.
We have over 2 million people who do not "assimilate" into our society,.....
.... we put them in prison.

The Israeli Army can not destroy Hamas or Hezbolla or Islamic Jihad. In trying they'll only light new fires of hatred against them.
There will never be peace nor the effective destruction of Hamas or any Palestinian terrorist group until the Palestinian people THEMSELVES actively turn against these groups.
It's going to have to take Palestinians to destroy Palestinian terrorism.
The Israeli Army may temporarily weaken it, but it won't be a clean cut to the head of the snake. Innocent Palestinians will be hit as well. That will just fuel more hatred of Israeli actions among Palestinians.
Palestinian terrorists have a virtual dictatorship over the Palestinian people that won't be broken by Israel or us.
It's up to the
Palestinian people to stop supporting and protecting them and turn against them, root them out of their society, expose them and help in the efforts to capture or kill the leaders and henchmen of Hamas et al..
Having said that,
Israel has every right to defend itself against any terrorist group anywhere by any means it believes is necessary.
And it SHOULD be going after these terrorist groups with the utmost
EXTREME FURY.
It's about damn time.

In ten years, she will grow up and encourage her brothers and male community members to be an H-bomber. There are two ways to judge your adversary, the wholesale or retail level. Individually (retail level) there will always be kind hearted compassionate Palestinians, but when they grow up and/or are given the order by their leaders (wholesale level)to shoot you, will they?? I will bet he or she will because no matter what the relationship, he or she is also obligated to their own community loyalties. Do not conduct national policy with the perception of a local news correspondence. That is how one gets his nation massacred!!

The Druze, and Christian Arabs are the only ones that are allowed to volunteer to serve in the IDF. The rest of the Palestinians are not permited. Poll after poll show that they support or have sympathy for the Hamas and H-bombers. One can not live side by side with such a population. I think it is too late and the fighting has gone on too long to rectify the hate. By now both sides should be so exhausted that they would want a settlement (look at Northern Ireland). The Israeli/Palestinian fighting has taken more lives and treasure than NI, and yet both will not stop. Then there is only one way, one must win and one must vanqish.

Where are the carriers? The Nimitz is in the Persian Gulf, the Vinson is off Korea somewhere. The rest are parked at Norfolk, San Diego and Bremerton.

I don't believe it for a second. I wish this were true, however. The fact that it is from ABC is enough to cast doubt.

About time...
Theodore Roosevelt wrote:
"What is needed at this time is not the compounding of felony by the discussion of terms with the felons, but the concentration of our whole strength so as to overwhelm Germany and to dictate to her the peace of unconditional surrender." I submit that the same sentiments should and must apply toward Israel's (and our) approach to islamofascism.
Since these people have shown no inclination to surrender .... destruction is the only other course.

"and yet both will not stop." Not so. At Oslo, Israel, in a search for peace, gave in to most "Palestinian" demands. The "Palestinian" answer to Israel's concessions was violence and bombs.

I don't think the REAL Bush plan is in tatters. He has "sided with the Palis" and called their bluff. Hamas rejected the offer and will now die.

You need some serious help.
