Two weeks ago, a guy that was in my class in school was killed in one of these post-war attacks while serving in the 3rd ID. What do you think his family thinks about our 'iron fisted' tactics?
//////////
Apparently you failed to read the last line of my post, where I said:
Catch the culprits and kill them; don't punish the general populace!
There is no logical connection between stealing an Iraqi family's cash and fighting the bastards killing our troops.
It is idiotic.
I have a family member serving in the Army, and I take EVERY casualty VERY seriously.
But, there is a difference between wildly thrashing about and pointedly going after the ones killing our troops. We risk stirring up MORE opposition by using stupid tactics. More opposition spells MORE dead GIs.
Regarding the ones who are doing the planning and execution of the effort to kill our GIs, I say: Show NO mercy.
My heart goes out to your late classmate's bereaved family.

I don't know that we are wildly thrashing about. I say we do whatever it takes and make no damn apologies for it.
