Here's a site that covers deceased stars, and some stories about the living. Strong languge and graphics warning.

http://www.findadeath.com/famous_list.htm

Scroll down to "Nancy Kulp" ( no deep link possible, sorry) and it will tell you some interesting things about her and other cast memmbers.

I was honored to receive a lovely email from Fess Parker a while back and he remarked that Buddy was doing well....I guess he toook a bad turn, but at 94 you can't feel too sad....RIP Georgie Russell.......

In the last month we have lost many great ones.

Either I am getting old, or there just aren't that many up and coming great ones to replace the ones that have passed on.

Who would you compare Gregory Peck, Katherine Hepburn, Buddy Hackett and Buddy Ebsine to? I can't think of one -
Can you?

"I can't remember a time in recent history that so many well known people passed in such a short time."

God must like live performances!

They come in 3's. This time it was Katherine Hepburn, Buddy Hackett and now Buddy Ebson. Sadness all around.

I forgot about Davy Crockett! I was just a child when that Walt Disney series was on weekly. When Mickey said today's show was from Frontierland... Brings back memories... good ones.

I know. I call our new movie "stars" McActors. Most any actor or actress could do their roles. They're interchangeable.

I saw Buddy in person at one of the Inaugural Balls in January 1989 for George H. W. Bush. I resisted the urge to walk up and shake his hand and let him enjoy the event like any other person there. He appeared like a friendly, kind gentleman.

How nice to know he attended such and event! Thanks for sharing that.

Me too! We never missed Davey Crockett. I didn't remember Buddy Ebson was Davy's side kick. We loved that show! And yes, my brother wore a "coon skin cap."

He was a conservative Republican. Great actor and dancer and a true American legend.

Is it me, or have a lot of show-biz legends died in the last few months. Let's remember that Buddy Ebsen was supposed to be the Tin Man in the famous 1939 version of The Wizard Of Oz, but was allergic to the aluminum make up. RP Buddy...thanks for the wonderful memories.

Buddy was a guest at the Nixon funeral, as well.I recall Nixon saying years ago that when he had some operation and was recovering in hospital, he and his fellow patients took to watching Barnaby Jones and they loved it! Nixon became a huge fan and Ebsen found out and they became good friends.

He used to have a home right on the boardwalk on Balboa Island,CA. As a teenager we would see him in his house cause his living room window was right there. Too bad RIP Buddy...

"That was a great show. "

Why can't they make shows like that today? It was clean. It was hilarious.

>All the stars of my youth are dying off. You know you're getting old when all the people you grew up watching on television or the big screen start passing away in droves.<

Yes, the people we Boomers remember as adults in our childhood are all in their eighties or beyond. This brings us face to face with our own advance in years.

Heck, I'm the same age as Ron "Opie" Howard. At least I still have my hair :P~~~~~~~~~~~~
