But going on prime time will only add fuel to the fire. If he issues a denial, then the story will only grow more legs, and middle America will actually begin to pay attention to the whispers in Washington. Right now, if the game is played as a Washington/media thing, this would be better. Our President does not often address the press, to do so now, would give them even more power. Why should he play the Clinton's game?
They are literally making me sick as I watch them contort the statements of Powell, Rice, and President Bush. The media is knowingly presenting this story out of context and they are the ones deliberately misleading the American public.
Rodger Hedgecock in for Rush is doing an excellent job on this subject.
I either did not state my thought clearly, or you misunderstood. NEVER would I suggest our President address the press. He should address the American People by way of an Address to the Nation. Going directly to the American People is the way I believe it should be done. The press can write about it, after the fact, and attempt to tell people what he said, but enough people will have seen it, there will be a good discussion on the streets, coffee shops, breakrooms and feed stores around the nation.
