San Freakcisco is reaping the benefits of all those tech job exports you have been posting me about. Hate to say it, but couldn't happen to a nicer bowl of fruitloops.

Maybe Dick and Bruce can move to India now.

Somebody is flat out lieing. My little east coast FloridUH town had a 21% population increase this past census because of the West Palm Beach exodus.

Really? Are they bringing their Commie politics and obnoxious attitudes with them to your town. Be prepared to flee the East Coast, because the Condo Commies will be up to Amelia Island in the next 10-15 years and will be voting in Wexler clones.

I think Willie Brown has done a better job than a lot of his predecessors.

I think SF really went downhill after the '89 earthquake. It took forever for the freeways to get fixed. The homeless situation got a lot worse.

It's a very depressing city to go to.

It's amusing how people get so worked up over a city they:

A - don't live in B - will never live in C - will never visit D - have never been to

Speaking as someone who has lived most of his life in and around NY, I wholeheartedly concur.

North Las Vegas, Nevada came in second with Rancho Cucamonga near Los Angeles; Henderson, Nevada; and Joliet, Illinois rounding out the top five.

Joliet has a HUGE illegal Mexican population.

Dear CB:

Angels?

Now that you live here in DuPage you have to make the great choice Cubs or Sox. Sorry!

I have been a Cubs fan for a very long time....even in Cali, back when WGN was first on cable in like 1986 or 87.

BUT, my AL team is still the Angels...sorry...but I am a Bears fan...been a Bears fan since 1985 when they won the superbowl...and amazingly enough, I've stayed one even though they haven't done anything since!

Well it's only been a depressing city since Brown has been mayor. I don't know how long you have lived in SF but when Frank Jordan was mayor there weren't nearly the problems you have today. And the problems you have with crime and vagrancy has nothing to do with earthquakes which you have had in SF since it's inception. But you guys keep making excuses for Willie and SF will continue to go to hell in a handbasket.

Just Kidding CB:

I was born in Chicago (the city), but my family moved to southern Indiana when I was five. I spent my school years as the only Cubs fan (except for immediate family) in a whole town of Cincinnati Reds fans.

Aargh!

The good news was that it was before the AFL/AFC existed. No Bengals and the Colts were still in Baltimore - so we did have Bears fans in town.

Probably not. It's probably the Conservatives leaving for better (political and cultural) climes.

They're headin' this way. And to answer your question : yes.

So, in about 2 years my home will double in value and I'll move to the next cleared out orange or mellon grove and start again. :-)

My cousin just recently moved out of San Francisco. Unfortunately she moved somewhere else within California. I keep telling them to dump the state but they are too tied to the damm place. I guess it's an emotional atachment, being born there and all.

That's what I was thinking, but I was going to say it a little nicer. I've seen someone die from aids and it's not a pretty picture. But ... SF does have a high aids count and those deaths could account for so many people leaving.

My 4 bedroom house worth 240,000 in North Texas would be worth over a million in Mountain View.

$240,000 will buy you a hovel in San Francisco. I'm dumbfounded that you can get a 4-bedroom house for that amount.

I wish tourists would forget politics when they visit here. Just enjoy the natural beauty! Anywhere along the waterfront is astroundingly gorgeous.

From the Embarcadero, to Pier 39, to Fisherman's Wharf, Aquatic Park, the Marina Greens, the yacht harbor, the Palace of Fine Arts, the Palace of the Legion of Honor - if you stay along the water's edge, your eyes will have a feast. So much blue!
