Problem is, that makes Tenet a foot-dragging jerk. He should have come out with this early this week, instead of waiting until Friday night. Perhaps that's your point, being that he's a Clinton appointee, and dumping on a Friday night means it doesn't quite get the play (and hence he doesn't get the grief) he otherwise would. I've never liked him. I hope he gets fired for this.
I disagree. I think this was, "strategerized," particularly if Bush has an ace up his sleeve (which he usually does.) I would expect a significant find in Iraq to be revealed early next week, certainly by Wednesday.
I still don't see where anyone did anything wrong. Tenet is taking the blame for the CIA approving a comment that came from British intelligent that was based only in part on forged documents.
It looks to me like Tenet is apologizing just to deflate the rat's imaginary issue. If that's the way the Bush admin wants to play it ok, but I hate sacrificing people for politics. I hate apologizing when you really have done nothing wrong. It sets a bad precedent.
