From someone who's done it - the big difference in tipping isn't black/white - it's men/women. And everyone who's ever waited a table knows it.

So which one tips better? I'm a woman and I always tip above 15%.

I've found that my fellow Christians pretty much suck at leaving reasonable tips. 'After-Church' self-righteous pricks who demand, demand, demand, then leave a few pieces of change and of course a "Gospel Tract."

Ive never run across it, but Ive heard that the absolute worst are Canadians. Theyd go into a breakfast joint in Daytona Beach and order a side of toast and a cup of hot water. Theyd bring their own tea bag and not tip for toast.
But more recently Ive heard that theyll just go to Target or Wal-Mart and buy a coffee maker or toaster, use it for two weeks, then try to return it before they leave. Thats supposedly pretty common.

But which group are the cheap b*st*rds?
Also, anyone who has ever worked for tips is a good tipper.

They just expect that since there are guys present, offering $5 for their $30 tab is just fine and dandy. When I rarely slip up and get stuck at a big table of people I don't know, I get a separate check and grin ear to ear watching...some guy always gets stuck with a $60-100 tab from people he doesn't know.

Every Wed night after womens bowling I would serve two tables of 8 women each. Despite my impeccable service, they never left a penny.
