I hope that New Mexico State Police protection granted the exiled Texas Democrats extends only to the minimum extent necessary to prosecute a successful deportation or extradition to Texas and hand them over to the Texas Rangers, and is not significantly more than that granted to an ordinary criminal with some degree of fame.
