Actually, the Pentagon might not have been a primary target. In any case, the hijacker at the controls of that plane didn't quite hit the Pentagon at the most destructive angle. I believe the plane hit the ground before hitting the building.

I agree the Pentagon was not the likely target. I believe the Primary target for BOTH planes headed to DC was the Capitol Bldg. with the Capital Mall as their best visual.
