U.S. soldiers shoot, kill Reuters cameraman

BAGHDAD, Iraq - U.S. soldiers shot and killed a Reuters television cameraman outside a prison west of Baghdad on Sunday, a day after an overnight mortar attack there left six Iraqi prisoners dead and nearly 60 wounded.
Mazen Dana, 41, a Palestinian who worked for the British news agency for more than a decade, was shot while filming a convoy on the road outside the U.S.-run Abu Ghraib prison, where several hundred criminals and anti-U.S. guerrillas are being held. Dana's colleagues said he did nothing wrong. He was on the last day of his assignment in Iraq and was supposed to meet his family in Jordan on Monday.
Dana's death came on a day of renewed violence in Iraq, including a raging fire on a crucial pipeline in northern Iraq. Saboteurs in Baghdad used a rocket-propelled grenade to blast a gaping hole in a major water line leading into the capital, shutting off water to tens of thousands of people in a city already plagued by shortages of water and electricity. Late Saturday, a Danish soldier was killed during a shootout with a gang of looters in the southern city of Basra.

Just damn. A cameraman looks an awful lot like a guy holding an anti-tank weapon.

welcome to war, bucko-me-lad.
the oldest observation concerning war that soldiers and civilians in war zones have ever made is "Sh!t happens"

Hmmm... I think a Commie Reuters cameraman is worth a
hundred points. The troopie who greased him should get
a private pat on the back, a leave for R&R, ...

"The tanks came, he was taking pictures and they just started shooting," Nadim said, shaking with sobs. "It was his last day here. I came to replace him. What am I supposed to tell his wife?"Let's see. You snuck up on the soldiers, and didn't properly identify yourselves?

Bad comparison - It's almost identical to a LAAW (Light Anti-Tank Weapon)

I would hope you tell her the same thing you want your replacement to tell your wife.

You come up with a better picture. I say it's not bad for 9 minutes after the thread was initiated.

Isn't it amazing how they left the words "US soldiers
allegedly shot a Reuters camera man" out of their report?
Had a terrorist exploded a nuclear device at an NFL game, Reuters would have said an "alleged" terrorist. Hypocrites.

I'm sorry he's dead, but I can't get too worked up about it.
Don't go pointing anything at soldiers in a combat zone. It is not safe to do so.

"U.S. soldiers shoot, kill Reuters cameraman.."
Who pointed a RPG looking camera at the soldiers who have been under attack for months with RPG's.
I guess this Darwin award removed from the gene pool idiot, and others like him should paint cameras blaze orange to show they are not real RPG's.
Or maybe, duh, he had a short memory of the El Rasheed hotel twerp cameraman pointing rocket looking thingys at a US tank under enemy fire!!!
Just stop people, no pointing of weapons like equipment at soldiers hotly engaged in live fire combat operations.
If you can't learn this basic precept, then STFU when some of you die from a terminal overdose of stupid.

As highlighted in bold, we see how Reuters is a Islamazi run propoganda tool, and just why it's agenda is pro-terrorist and anti-Western/anti-Israel!
All in all, a Pali-scumbag who worked for Reuters was ventilated...sounds like a good start to me!

I always like the LAAW. But it was hard on the ears.
Compare the HAND PLACEMENT of the cameraman and the LAAW illustration.
The hands are placed almost identically and the size/shape difference cannot be distinguished.

Dana's colleagues said he did nothing wrong. What?? As though this were an execution??
Assume the Pali's learned a lesson here....Do NOT aim you rocket launcher camera at a convoy while dressed as a rebel.
