Liberal was once an honest characterization for political belief. The leftwing socialists have hidden behind that name for years

Not any more, they've soiled the word "liberal" enough that they are migrating to the "progressive" label.

Socialist hardly fits them anymore. "Statist" fits them well and says it all. It needs no qualifiers as it is the end of the line, the bottom of the pit.
