[history]
The effort to unseat Gov. Gray Davis has slim support among voters in a poll released Friday as some Republican activists pushed for consolidation among the major candidates in the race.
In contrast to earlier surveys that suggested the recall enjoyed strong support, the Los Angeles Times poll shows half of likely voters support throwing Davis out of office, while 45 percent are opposed. Just 4 percent are undecided. The poll of 801 likely voters had a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.

"One of my friends, a recent arrival, went to vote in 2002, and handed the poll worker his new California Driver License. He said the poll worker flipped out and shoved it back at him as quickly as possible, saying it was illegal for them to even look at voters' IDs."
Sickening, just .... ewwwww.

it's handly fair to lump romney with arnold. For tactics that destroy conservative, respected Republicans, it's fair. You really don't understand how a lot of conservative MA Republicans feel about what Romney did to Rappaport.

"Hard to say whether this poll should be taken seriously."For two weeks, Davis' favorability has been in the low 20s in multiple polls.
What has suddenly changed that 45% would want him to remain in office?

It is interesting this LA Times poll shows the recall as being very close. Most of the other polls show the recall passing big time with the people favoring the recall in the high 50's or low 60's. You do not suppose the Times has an agenda do you?

Good question. Maybe Clinton's magic sauce helped him out, or maybe the press is LYING.

If anyone wants absolute PROOF that the LATIMES, CNN, etc and even most CA newspapers and tv stations are liberal hypocrits, serving to shield expose of their own racists from the voting public, ask them to so this simple google search:
go to news.google and enter
'arnold +nazi'
and marvel at the pages of results.
Now, enter 'cruz +aztlan or +mecha [or even] +n-word'
and see how the hits drop to zeero, nada, zip, zilch.
If Arnold had made the same kind of N-word faux pas that Cruz did in 2001, EVERY story written about Arnold would relentlessly lead in the first paragraph with that 'shocking' piece of info, yet Cruz gets a free ride simply because he doesn't have an 'R' next to his name.
The polls today say that Cruz 'enjoys' a 35% to 22% lead.
But Cruz rightly should be far, far below Arnold
[COLEMAN, that is]!!!
