Good luck! One question--does the 11th District include Buncombe and Henderson Counties? Metro Asheville has had such a huge influx of Kookyfornia-style granola (fruits, nuts, and flakes) the past few years, I hope that wouldn't be enough to put a Rat in Congress. The last thing the good, God-fearing, hard-working people in that district need is a Birkenstock-shod, crystal-carrying, peasant-dress-wearing band of hippie rejects deciding who Western Carolina's next Congresscritter is.

Yes, it does include those counties. And yes, there's a fair amount of granola in the Asheville area. But when you include the hard-shell conservative Democrats, this is a conservative District.

The Republican nominee will almost certainly become the next Congressman. The Democrat nominee, Sam Neill, -- an "edukashun" union guy -- in the last two elections, almost cannot run again. He still has $468,000 in debt as of 1 July, from his last run. The Dems will have to come up with a novice lib-Dem; otherwise they'd have to pay Sam's debts before he can begin to move forward. LOL.

As long as I don't get into a mud-slinging contest with Charlie Taylor, the Rep nominee should win the General. I won't campaign that way because I'm not stupid. Charlie won't do that because the best tactic for an incumbent is to ignore any challenger, not to give him/her a boost by even mentioning his/her name.

I've taken a very hard look at all the practical and realistic details of this campaign that are above and beyond the issues.
