I called Tom Torlakson's office about this a couple of weeks ago. I believe he supports it. He seems to support everything I don't. The person who answered the phone just unloaded on me - apparently, she had received about 100 calls in 1/2 an hour, and claimed she had been threatened. Some also wished harm on her children by an illegal with a driver's license. It really sickens me when people take this tactic - it DOES NOT help our cause. And, in her agitation, I don't think she was too interested in what I said. She pretty much said a terse "Thank you" and hung up. Great.

Really. It's the west side you want to break off and fall into the ocean anyway. ;)

If they don't have drivers licenses, how are they supposed to go get their free medical care, free public educations, etc.? The heavily subsidized bus systems are like crowded and stuff. Yes all that's important but we have an election comming up and thanks to motor voter the outcome will now be assured.

Going through the motions. This bill is bought and paid for.

Republican Assemblyman Doug La Malfa called the proposal "an invitation for voter fraud."
That's why the Democrats want it.

Has CA figured out how to keep the Illegals in CA (if this passes), or will the border jumpers just go on to neighboring states unimpeded?
To: My2Cents
We could call it Red California and Blue California.

I would like to figure the procedure to remove a state high official who supports the violent overthrow of our California government ...namely Cruz Bustamonte standing up for Mecha and la Reconquista...
To: socal_parrot
yes the amended bill REMOVED the fingerprint element - preventing law enforcement from using the print db to ID criminals...

Well is the great McClintock going to show how he can lead by stopping this? We always hear about what a great leader he is, is he going to stop this or is he going to prepare with his debate tonight with Larry Flynnt and the Huffington Bitch?

You're exactly right. There is little or no security attached to this bill. There will be an initiative drive to undo this, but I don't know if it will make it by March or appear in the Nov. presidential ballot.

I say give CA back to mexicoYou're too late, Mexico already took it back.

Well is the great McClintock going to show how he can lead by stopping this? As a senator in the minority, he cannot stop it. As a governor he can veto it.

Here is an idea. Add an amendment that says the license must have in bold red letters UNDOCUMENTED under the photo.

Not to get off topic too much but Dean Florez (SP?) will not run for Dooley's house seat. He says he wants to run for a statewide office (I'm guessing LT. Gov or Gov) in 06.

Add an amendment that says the license must have in bold red letters UNDOCUMENTED under the photo. The word "MOJADO" would be more appropriate.
