I wonder what deal was struck, if this story is true.

ChiracStandsAlone

Blair doesn't buckle either. Chirac is a fool and he's proving to the world. Life is good!

The French teacher's schedule has been cut back and assumes she will be teaching spanish as time goes on. Seems the parents of the middle school kids are pulling their kids out of French and towards Spanish.

That's funny! Although it's kind of sad, too, since French is a fun language to study and learn. But what's the use of our kids learning a dying language?

Unilaterlist Bush does it again, without groveling like his haters wanted him to.

Right, but there is a cost. The unilateralist label will forever stick.

France cannot afford to stick her neck out. Her only claim to world power is anachronistic Security Council veto, which will be lost if France obstructionism leads to reform. This is probably a total cave, but Chirac is pretending otherwise.

"Seems the parents of the middle school kids are pulling their kids out of French and towards Spanish"

That makes sense. Spanish is a growing language in this country.

French is a beautiful language but, unless one is planning a visit to France, Spanish is much more useful.

That makes sense

Except their was an abrupt change made by the parents during 2001 when the kids had already enrolled in French.

Powell, like the general that he is, has breached the diplomatic Maginot Line. We can soon expect a regular SitzKrieg of a debate in the UN and then we get the UN to formalize the fete accompli.

Gosh, I really messed that one up.

By the parents? That is too cool!

Sorry,
It was/is :Punish France, Ignore Germany, Forgive Russia.
I got an award for a previous tagline-and it was a Dr. Rice quote.
IMHO, France has not yet begun to suffer...
But I work towards that goal every day of my life!Or at least think about it whenever I make a consumer purchase.Or spec a commercial product.

I believe you are right. Sorry...my mistake.

"IMHO, France has not yet begun to suffer..."

Amen to that. I do my part with every purchase I make.

Maybe ALL those who are left in the deck of cards have found a home in France?
