It's a mish-mash, ultra-violent, rip off of several Asian movie scenes, including some of John Woo's best, wrapped around a comic book plot.

Has anybody seen "Vampire Hunters", an Asian martial arts vs. magic movie on my "In Demand" menu? It looks pretty cool, albeit very dark.

I didn't find this to borrow from John Woo at all. John uses guns largely in his film, this has almost no guns. Swords, a mace (ball on chain, not chemical), and plenty of kung fu.
This has more in common with the Lone Wolf And Cub samurai films and the gangster films of Seijun Suzuki (like Branded To Kill) or the Seijun influence Black Tight Killers. The Sonny Chiba "Streetfighter" movies and his live action Golgo 13 film also factor in.
This film does not steal from other films no more than Star Wars was a rip off of other things you've seen.
