Yep- I think the story that the attached link in that post referred to made that clear. But it can be confusing to drop into the middle of a thread- many FR threads take unpredictable twists and turns, sort of an information-age example of Brownian motion.

I agree about the unpredictible twists and turns on the large posts. I've always viewed these as like the game of telephone - you look at the early posts which generally are on topic and then go to the later posts (say posts larger than 200) and they bear no resemblance to the original topic.
