There are two kinds of addiction. Physical addiction and psychological addiction. The physical addiction will be taken care of in about five miserable days (and nights). This is the withdrawl stage.

The psychological addiction is the hard one. I would think that someone with Rush's drive will be able to overcome this more difficult addiction.

I hope so, Its a very difficult thing to do but it can be done. I have to give Rush a lot of credit for owning up to his addiction and not play the victim.
