Security Council meets on security fence
By JPOST.COM STAFF
The Security Council held a closed-door meeting on Friday to discuss a Palestinian-backed, Syrian-sponsored draft resolution demanding that Israel halt construction of the security fence and tear down sections already built. The proposed resolution was introduced at the request of the Arab League.
The United States requested that the discussion be postponed until Wednesday, Haaretz reported, while it was also agreed that an open meeting on the issue would be held on Tuesday.
An additional resolution urging the parties to implement the road map is in the works, UN Ambassador Dan Gillerman said during a conference call with the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations. The road map, currently a US-led initiative of the international quartet, could become a UN plan if the latter resolution is adopted.
Council resolutions need the support of nine of the council's 15 members. Five nations, including the US, can veto.

This should be titled "Security Council meets on resolution allowing more Israelis to die".
The separation fence is a non-lethal way to stop terrorists attacking Israel. Perhaps the U.N. would prefer the alternative: a major military offensive and a full reoccupation of the territories.
Sorry, Palestinians, Syria, Arab League, and the Arab puppet organization called the United Nations, but I hate to inform you that Israel will not commit national suicide no matter how many resolutions you pass.

Explain this to me.
If America was to erect a fence on the Mexican border, would the Security Council intervene?
What if the Chinese decided to take over Tibet, would the Security Council intervene?
What if bin Laden and the Taliban orchestrated attacks on the US, would the Security Council intervene?

REMOVE THE UN FROM US SOIL! Indeed. The U.S. presence in the U.N. gives it a legitimacy it does not deserve. Israel has fences on the Syrian, Lebanese, and Egyptian borders. Nobody objects to those. The Palestinians don't like the route of this fence? Well... stop killing Israelis, sit down, and negotiate about it. Otherwise they have nothing to complain about. Also, the 1947 U.N. partition plan for Palestine was based on 1947 demographics. What is wrong with a separation plan in 2003 based on 2003 demographics?
