I won't tell you what the city slickers who've shown up around here the last few years are like. Let's just say if their behavior is what's normal in the big city, dang glad I don't live there.

I hear you. If what I have observed in some cities passes for well-read enlightenment, I'll take the Wal-Mart crowd.

I'm sure one can find jerks anywhere. I'm just making a general comment based on my numerous moves and world travel. There is a nostalgic and wistful longing for the "small town" atmosphere - until you get there and see just how unsophisticated it can be. It tends to trap many young people in a cycle of poor education, limited horizons, early pregnancy and marriage, low intellect jobs, etc. The brightest and best tend to escape. I'm just saying, I can't blame them.
