Nothing about this negates the fact that Rush is the one of the greatest of all Conservative pundits/thinkers. Rush Limbaugh is a popular entertainer. He is not a political thinker on the level of a Russell Kirk, a George Sowell, or a William F. Buckley. Sorry if that doesnt go down well, but its the truth.

I agree he is a popular entertainer and a hypoctite..
"There's nothing good about drug use. We know it. It destroys individuals. It destroys families. Drug use destroys societies. Drug use, some might say, is destroying this country. And we have laws against selling drugs, pushing drugs, using drugs, importing drugs. And the laws are good because we know what happens to people in societies and neighborhoods which become consumed by them. And so if people are violating the law by doing drugs, they ought to be accused and they ought to be convicted and they ought to be sent up.
"What this says to me is that too many whites are getting away with drug use. Too many whites are getting away with drug sales. Too many whites are getting away with trafficking in this stuff. The answer to this disparity is not to start letting people out of jail because we're not putting others in jail who are breaking the law. The answer is to go out and find the ones who are getting away with it, convict them and send them up the river, too."

Rush Limbaugh is a popular entertainer. He used to identify himself as such.
Sadly, some Freeple have made him into something else.
Easier to listen to radio than read books, ain't it?

He has always said he is working with half his brain tied behind his back. I guess that turned out to be true. I happen to admire Rush and cannot wait to see what he has to say when he's thinking with his whole brain.

Rush Limbaugh is a popular entertainer. He is not a political thinker NOT!!! He is one of the ALL TIME GREAT Political thinkers who has influenced this entire country!! He knows that.....we ALL know that , like it or not! I am not condoning getting hooked on prescription drugs, but that doesn't make his political knowledge WRONG.

not on the level of Russell Kirk....... You sound like an elitist, though maybe not a liberal one. Somehow, I see a dis-connect here.
To: B-Chan
Just because you say it is the truth does not make it true. I continue to support Rush even in this time of difficulty.
You better hope you never have his kind of pain or problems.

Thomas Paine wasn't a deep political thinker along the lines of a Jefferson or a Madison, either. That didn't make his contribution to American history any less noteworthy, did it?

Rush may not be a great "political thinker." But he's very loyal to conservative principles and conservative leaders.
As Hubbard once said, "an ounce of loyalty is worth a pound of cleverness." And a lot of "Freepers" seem to be grasping for the latter. Those who can't keep a decent level of respect for one of our own need to find another web site.

Sorry if that doesnt go down well, but its the truth. No you are right, but RUSH talks to me, he talks to me and I can understand and follow everything he says. Those others although I truly respect them loose me halfway because they are so damn smart. Especially Buckley who part of the problem is trying to understand him with his accent.
RUSH TALKS TO ME, HE TALKS TO BUSINESS OWNERS, TRUCK DRIVERS, ETCC...
