ICC has written several times in the past about events in Poso, a town in the island of Sulawesi, Indonesia. Poso erupted in violence the last few years with a horrendous human cost in bloodshed and economic destruction. Thousands of Christians homes were burned and many people murdered. Poso remains a hotbed of tension that has almost erupted recently with new events happening every few days. In the past few weeks we have posted several news items about murders and and bombings directed at Christians. We received note tonight that another bomb exploded (no casualties), 2 more men were murdered on the evening of Nov. 29 and another man shot. Simson and Serman (a village chief) were murdered on the way back from Poso. The 3rd man who was shot is in critical condition. Four killed in fresh violence in Indonesia's central Sulawesi Indonesian police say four people have been killed and four others injured in the latest outburst of sectarian violence in the district of Poso in Central Sulawesi. The Poso district Police chief said gunmen attacked two separate villages killing two people in each settlement. At least one group (THE MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD OF THOSE SUFFERING THE SAME FATE OF THE POSO VICTIMS) is passing out flyers for the Muslims to rise up and annihilate the Christians. |
