Timothy and the other believers were still alive on the earth. That's a crucial distinction. You're praying to those who have died. Yes, they are alive forever in heaven, but they died, and they are not God.

Revelation 5:8

Non-responsive. Nothing there indicates that those prayers were offered by those on earth to anyone but God.

Good morning brothers and sisters.   Thank you for sharing and charitably explaining our faith on this thread.  I hope you won't mind me offering an observation that I have made here, in this thread.   One two occassions I asked straightforward questions, and the responses had to be inferred by actions (read anti-Catholic "attacks").  If you should decide to persist in explaining a holy, Catholic position, I hope that you'll be mindful of today's Gospel, and successful in turning the other cheek.  God Bless, and FReegards!
