CALVINISM MAKES GOD THE AUTHOR OF SIN

CALVINISM

CONTRARY TO GOD'S WORD

AND

MAN'S MORAL NATURE.

In order to have an intelligent discussion of about the topic, which is the title of this thread, one must have at least a cursory knowledge of the work of John Calvin. Merely second sourcing citations will most likely quickly reveal to discerning posters that you are woefully ignorant of Calvinism.

I have provided an online book, of which I have skimmed, but not read every jot and title, for reference of a source which makes the claim that Calvinism does make God the author of Sin. See section 3 of the book.

Your right Pilgrim. I also think the phrase:

"...to which you do well to pay attention..."

should be highlighted.

Sometimes it's hard to tell when one has to read comments and replies.

Since we operate on faith, and you agree there is no evidence...it stands to reason that any one of us could be right or wrong, or we could all be wrong...or right. We'll find out when the time comes.

A superstition to one, may not be a superstition to another, we have no way of knowing.

I have never doubted the bible as containing many historical facts, things such as people, kingdoms, events, etc. I'm sure much of it is valid. What cannot be validated, is the reasoning behind some of these events. I do not believe, that there are eye witnesses to a man coming back from the dead. It would equally be difficult to provide evidence that someone dying on a cross, really saved anyone from their sins. That is faith.

I don't think it defies reason..do you know why people do the things that they do?

"Since we operate on faith, and you agree there is no evidence...it stands to reason that any one of us could be right or wrong"

You misread my ascertain that there is no evidence. As both Paul and Peter pointed out there is ample evidence of God in the world around us, through His inspired Word and historical accounts. Even you have asserted there is a God that you pray to which, BTW, is exactly what Paul's says in Romans ("though they know God, they did not acknowledge Him").

What we're really discussing is whether God is revealed through the scriptures. You base your faith in some undocumented belief which you have invented. I've based my faith in the Bible as handled down throughout the ages whose promises are testified to by many (including myself). But YOU will never know the truthfulness of these promises until you come to Christ through faith.

One of us is right. The other is wrong. I would rather rely on someone's invention of penicillin which has healed many then create my own from spores on the cheese in my refrigerator.

Sorry, it's hard to take things that are written down, any way other than literally.

I believe that we may both, either be right or wrong...to me it doesn't matter if I am right or wrong, as we are all going to die, and no one knows what happens after death...to others, it seems that it does matter.

Your analogy to penicillin, doesn't really apply here, as it it something that can be validated, both through repetition and results. Our faiths/beliefs cannot.

I would suspect that the reasons why Calvinists keep getting banned is their rudeness.

And I hesitated to post this for fear of being hounded for two weeks. You people are worse than the Anti-WoD-ers.

You came all the way over here from LP in order to resurrect this thread?

I miss you too. ;^)

Gee I was nice , and you ran away from my questions and observations. Could it be if you can not defend it , you decided not to post?

It's been months since we've heard from you, Iggy. Checking the calendar, aren't you about due for another bi-annual religious conversion?

I just realized you made your nasty comment to a post I wrote five-weeks ago!

I agree with you. There's some "hounding" going on, but it's not by me.

I could and still can defend it. I was just tired of the tenor of the discussions. I had already made up my mind to quit the discussion, and said so before your last post.

No I didn't. That thread did figure in to my comment, but only because I was making a general comment based on what I have seen on several religious threads.

PS I didn't "ping" you. I merely replied to a public comment that you made, which I have every right of doing btw.

Point of order....you had Dr. E's name in the "To" field so you technically did ping her.
