I don't believe protestants have visions from God. Probably could be worded better, but I think that's true.
You're entitled to your opinion. There are, however, millions of Christians outside of the Roman Communion who witness modern day prophecy on a weekly basis, and who discount the visions of those canonized by Rome.
A prophecy that is not in accord with the Bible is not from God, and has to be discounted.
Catholic == Universal != Roman Communion

"There are, however, millions of Christians outside of the Roman Communion who witness modern day prophecy on a weekly basis" Could you please give a few examples? One? Not counting the one in this thread that sounds more like a dream than anything else.

As a new poster, and a Catholic, I must say I am dissapointed in some of my co-religionists here.
I left Lucianne.com for its rabid anti-Catholicism only to find it and it's opposite in full bloom here.
Salvation is through Christ. We (Catholic and Protestant "Christians") share the most IMPORTANT aspect of that faith. Christ's divinity, death, defeat of sin and the resurrection. The rest is, relatively speaking, unimportant.
Lets not be arrogant (either group). We have enough common enemies.

"The rest is, relatively speaking, unimportant." You are entitled to your opinion. If more people thought that way we could all be protestants. It would make life easier.

Are prepared to say that belief in Christ's divinity, his sacrafice, death, and resurection are NOT the central core beliefs of Christianity?
Nothing else matters WITHOUT that first, so, RELATIVE to that, everything else is less important.
That does not make me a Protestant.
Catholics and Protestants are both Christians first.

Her visions are a deception and are from Hell.Did you see the postmark? How can you be sure they're not from, say, Bolivia?

Not wanting to be chicken little here, but is it just me, or has the flooding situations seem to be increasing ten fold? It seems like it's happening everywhere, China now.
It's only a matter of time before the San Andreas...

Uhmm...no it doesn't.
And your comment about my screen name is not only juvenile, it makes no sense.

Condemned as error by Pope Pius IX.
[It is an error to believe that] Protestantism is nothing more than another form of the same true Christian religion, in which form it is given to please God equally as in the Catholic Church.Encyclical "Noscitis," Dec. 8, 1849

Has John Paul II said anything on this issue?
To: NJ Neocon
What would he possibly say that could be any different, and yet be binding? What Pius IX said derives directly from infallible Catholic doctrine.
Catholic doctrine can never change.

Much. Doctrine is not infallible.
Was Pius speaking Ex Cathedra?
To: NJ Neocon
I think it's important to be loyal to the Pope and to the magisterium.
Arguing with Pius IX is something best left to the dissenters who think that they are holier than the pope, I suppose.

To: NJ Neocon
"Your delusional."
I agree.
Fortunately I was still lucid enough to provide for you an answer from Pius IX's Syllabus of Errors.

That is fine, but you said "Doctrine is Infallible".
no it is not.
More to the point, was Pius speaking Ex Cathedra? If not that makes anything JPII says on the subject more than relevant.
