I live in the town of Brookhaven. I did a Google search and found a Latin Mass that is being said by a retired priest. I used to go to Depaw in the '70s & '80s. I understand the "faithful" go to watch him on video, now that he's past away. I haven't had the opportunity to kiss a bishop's ring since I was confirmed in 1959...

The only Latin Masses I know of are the SSPX in Farmingville, and the Indult held in the Chapel of St. Pius in Uniondale. Tellingly, the Indult is held in the very place the diocese houses the priests accused of abuse.

I think it illustrates beautifully what the bishop thinks of the traditional Mass.

I'd love to know where you attend the Mass said by the retired priest. I'm in Smithtown, so I can't be too far from you...

Regards,

Hi neighbor!

I did a Google search and found a Latin Mass that is being said by a retired priest.

Fr. Murphy? He has said mass at our chapel.

I used to go to Depaw in the '70s & '80s. I understand the "faithful" go to watch him on video

Many of them come to St. Michael's now.

Of course, Bishop Murphy would rather get cancer before he would allow another Latin Mass in his Diocese

Actually I just heard a rumor that Bishop Murphy is planning on inviting the FSSP into the diocese, I can't confirm it though. I would suspect it is not due to his "love" for the TLM though.

P.S. Bishop Murphy jerked his hand away when I went to kiss his ring....and I am of no relation ;-)
