At about 9 p.m. on Ascension Thursday, 2007 – Young Traditional Catholics received a statement from the Archdiocese of San Antonio concerning the Missions incident on the 12 May 2007.

The statement – not surprisingly – leaves much to be desired.

In the Catholic Church a bishop has a canonical right to instruct Catholics to avoid worship of any form with schismatics.

If Catholics want to pick and choose which canonical instructions of their pastor they wish to obey or not obey, then they should probably find a Protestant Church that celebrates the traditional Mass, like the SSPX or SSPV.

I think this is perfectly clear and adequate. “However, groups not in communion with Rome are not permitted to conduct public services in our churches without our participation.”

xangel10228, did your organization ask for participation from the Archdiocese before planning your event? It sounds as if that would avoided the difficulties ... even if you were Methodists (for example).
