"How do you “work on” your salvation? Salvation is what Christ died for, you can neither deserve it nor do enough good works to earn it."

I think the disconnect here is the difference between salvation and sanctification. One merely accepts his salvation, he then "works on" his sanctification for the rest of his life.

I’m glad to hear that they have improved instruction.

The journey is far too important to travel casually.

How do you “work on” your salvation?

Phil 2:12 Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling;

I can accept that.

You claim it through proclaiming Jesus as your Lord and Savior and then following His teachings, period.

Hmmm...sounds suspiciously like works to me. :-)

But foremost in my mind was the sixth chapter of John. I read and re-read it, the words haunting me: "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in yourselves" (John 6:53)

Excellent article, NYer. As always, thank you for posting it.

"I never left it," I replied. "I fulfilled it."

Amen.

Thank you for posting this, NYer.

Only to those who aren't well versed in the topic.

"Wherefore he that thinketh himself to stand, let him take heed lest he fall." 1 Corinthians 10:12

Words straight from Jesus:

John 10:27-30 (English Standard Version) 27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. 28 I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. 30 I and the Father are one."

Verses 28 and 29 extremely relevent...
