Well I am thankfull for those younger folks who attend far more Church stuff and understand their faith far more than I did at their age - there may be less of them because the threat of their parents is not as much an issue as when I was growing up - I got a hiding if I didn’t go to Mass. What we have is quality youth and they will be the leaders of a new and bolder generation! God bless them all!

Thank God there were no opinion polls in Jerusalem back on that first Easter Sunday.

There was one on the first Good Friday. Barabas won in a landslide.

** I was a Catholic for much of my youth. **

You can always come back to the Catholic Church then. We would welcome you with open arms.

What was it that drew you away from your faith?

(You can answer in FReepmail if you wish.)

I will post the story of Scott Hahn’s conversion beginnings.

Yet, few parishioners overall said they go to confession, and most believed they could be good Roman Catholics without going to Mass.

Ugh. I go to confession once a month (at least). Not that I'm any better than any other Catholic ... but because I am a sinner. It's not healthy for the soul to be carrying around the stains of sin.

But don’t you know there is no such thing as mortal sin any more? And even if there were, is missing Mass really all that serious? What if you don’t “get anything” out of going? What if the “institutional” Church has somehow “hurt” you, do you still have to go to Mass? Who are you to judge these wonderful, caring, feeling people who love the faith—what little of it they have—but not the Mass? You must be one of those people who clings to his religion!
