Those young men about to be ordained seem so sincere, devout, gives me hope for the future of the church

The Church needs good priests. We all need to redouble our prayers for priests, both those currently ordained and those who are called.

Bread, rice and maize? More multiculturalism. What about tobacco, the original American crop?

The Church is universal, and therefore multicultural. There is nothing wrong with these symbolic gifts.
To: Miss Marple
Just seems to me of all the things they could have said or done, bringing up a bunch of baskets of bread is not very original, nor was the theological symbolism properly explained by the speakers.

Well, not wanting to argue, but didn’t you hear the girl speak about Jesus being the Bread of Life?
Cardinal Tragillio (sp?) has passed away.

Cardinal Alfonse Lopez-Trujillo, requiescat in pace.

Now they are singing “America the Beautiful.” That’s really nice.

That would have ruffled some feathers, if the kids had gone up there and offered the Pope a carton of Marlboro Lights.

Thanks for posting, Pyro, I’m watching. It seems a very joyous event and it’s great to see so many seminarians. However...ahem...did you see the seminarians NOT singing ‘America the Beautiful?’ So many more seem to know ‘Pan de Vida.’ I’m sure the Holy Father requested ‘America the Beautiful,’ he seems to love this country very much.

LOL! Our pastor smokes like a chimney:)
To: Pyro7480
DO you know how the 25,000 came to attend? Was it like the public Masses where each parish was given X tickets? I’m curious because I went to RC schools not that far from the seminary and wonder if some current students of the ole alma mater might be there.

That was great, and so was the cheer answering him!
To: Miss Marple
It reminded me of: Be not afraid!
