. This seems to be mighty subjective - I guess I may have to see how this pans out in practice. One man's trash is another man's treasure.

So, we are now using RelgionForum v2.1, is there a patch we can install or should we just read the instructions? :-)It would have been good if STRIKEOUT was used to ZOT the old stuff, and BOLD or maybe RED could have been used to emphasis the new.

It is not gratuitous when the members of that belief raise the issue themselves. thats just kooky IMO - seems that were calling everyone here a Christian, yet were assuming everyone who is not part of that faith group is acting in a manner unbecoming a Christian by lumping or characterizing all discussion of a secret practice by non members as "gratuitous"
That stifles any investigation into our faith, and the policy is actually contrary to Scripture, which is ironic for a religion forum
James 1: 2Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. 4Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

>>Calvinists also have a “sacrifical Sunday” once every 12th lunar cycle, where they slaughter a young boar, smearing the carcass with vinegar from a branch of hyssop, adding holy spices, later roasting it on a hickory fire<<
I’m thinking I need to get to know some Calvinists. Maybe some nice camping buddies. *smile*
I can bring the beverages.

The intent, at least as it came up in the thread where this new rule originated, was that if an article, while primarily discussing an aspect of one faith, makes a passing antagonistic reference to another faith, that would be acceptable, as we do not have control over how an external source chooses to express their opinion.
Responders are expected to adhere to a higher standard.
And of course, anybody who feels put off by the antagonistic aside is free to make positive statements refuting it.
Which made me wonder if it’s ok to be antagonistic to the AUTHOR of the article in an ecumenical thread, so long as you are not antagonistic to his religion or to fellow freepers.
Anyway, that’s what I think it means. I think an article that was primarily or substantively antagonistic would be rejected.

Is there any way to say I will never ever even
think of posting anything on any of these threads without actually posting this reply?
... never mind...

How sad that religion discussions fall prey to such exchanges. Says the guy who's up for a tussle occasionally. lol.
To: netmilsmom
Here is where FReepers look the worst and Im surprised the DU hasnt reprinted some of these thread. That's because they are just too busy infighting until the Demo Convention is over.
Then; when McCain picks Mitt for VEEP; watch out!
