Was Padre Pio a plagiarist?

Hey, even plagiarists need a patron saint. Joe Biden, call your office.

In researching this article, the interesting thing that I also discovered was that while Saint Padre Pio had a special devotion to St Gemma Galgani, St. Gemma likewise had a very special devotion to Saint Gabriel Possenti.

In fact, in 1899 while Saint Gemma was on the verge of dying from spinal meningitis, St. Gabriel (who died 37 years previously, in 1862) appeared to her in a vision and encouraged her to pray and make a novena to Jesus for a cure, in honor of His Sacred Heart. He then appeared to her each night of the novena, and prayed the novena prayers along with her. On the last day of the novena she was miraculously cured. From that day on she had a great devotion to Saint Gabriel.

Thus, we have another example of the intercession and the Communion of Saints.
