We’ve lost two auxiliary bishops in Detroit this year. Bp. Earl Boyea was assigned to Lansing to replace the retired Bp. Carl Mengeling, and Bp. John Quinn has just been named co-adjutor of Winona. That leaves us with three active bishops - Cdl. Maida, Bp. Flores and Bp. Reiss (and I’ve been told that Reiss is ill and unable to serve right now). Maida is past retirement age, as well.
