The war of Ezekial (armies invading Israel, supernatural intevention; fire and brimstone, etc.) is before any rapture. The battle of Armegeddon is after a rapture. This is very clear in scripture.
That’s what I thought.
It is really fascinating to read Lamsa’s 1936 translation of that passage in Ezekiel. I know he is much criticized but when I happened to read it many years ago it was a jolt.
I'm not absolutely convinced one way or the other, so the following is just MY opinion, take it for what its worth.
I lean that Gog/Magog is pre trib.
1-The trib starts at the peace agreement with the AntiChrist.
The Bible does tell us the peace agreement is a 7 year pact (who makes a peace pact for 7 years? If I'd sign for peace, I want it unending, not for a set period of time, and after that...)
2-Why make a peace agreement unless you're at war?
I believe the Antichrist will offer a peace plan to Israel after the Russo/Islam coalition attacks and is destroyed.
Imagine a nation (Israel) of 6 million people population being attacked by Iran-65 million population, Russia-142 million, and whatever the other countries have. That would have to be terrifying.
The attack upon Israel is a quick surprise attack, and Israel will be afraid of another one.
Look at how the world hates and attacks Israel today, for defending itself from rocket attacks. For using "disproportionate" force. There will be a majority of people who refuse to believe that God defended Israel. They won't understand how the invaders will be destroyed, but I think they could blame Israel for this destruction, of using "disproportionate".
I'm not saying this WILL be the scenario, but it does make sense in light of whats happening today.
3-There are numerous verses talking with exact numbers of Antichrists reign. Midway through the trib, the AC is fatally wounded and healed. From this point on, he speaks blasphemy, and sets himself up as God, and causes the abomination of desolation in the temple.
The Bible doesn't talk about anything of the AC before the peace pact. It seems the AC's reign begins at the peace agreement. After the peace agreement, other time frames are mentioned.
