It must be remembered that most often when one belief spawns from a previous one, both sides condemn each other in the harshest terms they can muster (heresy, anathema, apostate, cult, demonic, etc.) and often those condemnations become part of the official doctrine and documents.

Just for clarification the LDS believes that this is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and NOT another denomination or spawns from a previous one, it is the restoration of The Church of Jesus Christ that was taken from the earth after the last apostle.

9 We believe all that God has revealed, all that He does now reveal, and we believe that He will yet reveal many great and important things pertaining to the Kingdom of God.

11 We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may.

Aw, c'mon resty...post the WHOLE thing, including where you believe in the Bible "as far as it is translated correctly"

The Articles of Faith
of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

  1. We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost.
  2. We believe that men will be punished for their own sins, and not for Adam's transgression.
  3. We believe that through the Atonement of Christ, all mankind may be saved, by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel.
  4. We believe that the first principles and ordinances of the Gospel are: first, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; second, Repentance; third, Baptism by immersion for the remission of sins; fourth, Laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost.
  5. We believe that a man must be called of God, by prophecy, and by the laying on of hands by those who are in authority, to preach the Gospel and administer in the ordinances thereof.
  6. We believe in the same organization that existed in the Primitive Church, namely, apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, evangelists, and so forth.
  7. We believe in the gift of tongues, prophecy, revelation, visions, healing, interpretation of tongues, and so forth.
  8. We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly; we also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God.
  9. We believe all that God has revealed, all that He does now reveal, and we believe that He will yet reveal many great and important things pertaining to the Kingdom of God.
  10. We believe in the literal gathering of Israel and in the restoration of the Ten Tribes; that Zion (the New Jerusalem) will be built upon the American continent; that Christ will reign personally upon the earth; and, that the earth will be renewed and receive its paradisiacal glory.
  11. We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may.
  12. We believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law.
  13. We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul—We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.

Joseph Smith

Despite the simplicity of the aforementioned definitions, there are some individuals and institutions who sternly contend that there are self-described Christians, and in fact entire sects of self-proclaimed Christian religions, who should not be considered Christians at all.

That would include mormons...

Well, that’s right

The mormon cult is NOT a denomination of the Christian Churches...

Mormonism has nothing to do with Christianity...

And yet Smith started a murderous gang he called the Avenging Angels and later “Danites” to murder innocent people who did not want to belong to the mormon cult but worshipped and believed differently...

Also members who wanted to leave were hunted down and slaughtered hideously...

Young continued the practice and was a despot over a theocracy...

Even in the temple rites, mormons promise to murder people who dont believe as they do and to take revenge for the death of Smith...

Smith declared that he wanted to be like Mohammad and convert people to mormonism at the point of a sword....convert or die...

“Just for clarification the LDS believes that this is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and NOT another denomination or spawns from a previous one, it is the restoration of The Church of Jesus Christ that was taken from the earth after the last apostle.”

Would you please share the specific verse/s in the BIBLE
where God says he will EVER take the Church of Jesus Christ
from the earth before the rapture?

I see none (cause there aren’t any).

Also, would you please LIST what was restored in the LDS
restoration, along with the specific verse/s from the BIBLE
showing that those “restored things” are Biblical?

Thanks in advance. I’ll get the popcorn ready!

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

That would be the collective conscienceness of the celestial being Smith

mormons dont get to think for themselves or have a separate conscience thought that is not controlled by the central governing body in Temple Square...

Non-conformity in thought is grounds for excommunication...

REAL Christians look to Jesus Christ the Lord for leadership...when there is a need or trouble...

Mormons look to Joey Smith, their “prophet” for leadership...when there is a need or trouble...

For Christians, the blood that Jesus that was shed on the Cross at calvary paid the price of our salvation...

For mormons, following Joey Smith brings salvation...

“In conclusion, let us summarize this grand key, these “Fourteen Fundamentals in Following the Prophet,” for our salvation hangs on them.

First: The prophet is the only man who speaks for the Lord in everything.

Second: The living prophet is more vital to us than the standard works.

Third: The living prophet is more important to us than a dead prophet.

Fourth: The prophet will never lead the Church astray.

Fifth: The prophet is not required to have any particular earthly training or credentials to speak on any subject or act on any matter at any time.

Sixth: The prophet does not have to say “Thus saith the Lord” to give us scripture.

Seventh: The prophet tells us what we need to know, not always what we want to know.

Eighth: The prophet is not limited by men’s reasoning.

Ninth: The prophet can receive revelation on any matter, temporal or spiritual.

Tenth: The prophet may be involved in civic matters.

Eleventh: The two groups who have the greatest difficulty in following the prophet are the proud who are learned and the proud who are rich.

Twelfth: The prophet will not necessarily be popular with the world or the worldly.

Thirteenth: The prophet and his counselors make up the First Presidency—the highest quorum in the Church.

Fourteenth: The prophet and the presidency—the living prophet and the First Presidency—follow them and be blessed; reject them and suffer.

I testify that these fourteen fundamentals in following the living prophet are true. if we want to know how well we stand with the Lord, then let us ask ourselves how well we stand with His mortal captain. How closely do our lives harmonize with the words of the Lord’s anointed—the living prophet, the President of the Church, and with the Quorum of the First Presidency?

May God bless us all to look to the prophet and the presidency in the critical and crucial days ahead, is my prayer. In the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.”

(Mormon Elder Ezra Taft Benson, exerpt of a speech to students in BYU “Fourteen fundamentals in following the prophet”, February 26, 1980)

My how the Restored® have mellowed over the years! (Not OFFICIALLY, that is)

http://scriptures.lds.org/en/js_h/1/17#17

17 It no sooner appeared than I found myself delivered from the enemy which held me bound. When the light rested upon me I saw two Personages, whose brightness and glory defy all description, standing above me in the air. One of them spake unto me, calling me by name and said, pointing to the other—This is My Beloved Son. Hear Him!
18 My object in going to inquire of the Lord was to know which of all the sects was right, that I might know which to join. No sooner, therefore, did I get possession of myself, so as to be able to speak, than I asked the Personages who stood above me in the light, which of all the sects was right (for at this time it had never entered into my heart that all were wrong)—and which I should join.
19 I was answered that I must join none of them, for they were all wrong; and the Personage who addressed me said that all their creeds were an abomination in his sight; that those professors were all corrupt; that: “they draw near to me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me, they teach for doctrines the commandments of men, having a form of godliness, but they deny the power thereof.”
20 He again forbade me to join with any of them; and many other things did he say unto me, which I cannot write at this time. When I came to myself again, I found myself lying on my back, looking up into heaven. When the light had departed, I had no strength; but soon recovering in some degree, I went home. And as I leaned up to the fireplace, mother inquired what the matter was. I replied, “Never mind, all is well—I am well enough off.” I then said to my mother,
“I have learned for myself that Presbyterianism is not true.”
