Indeed so, and always have been. I recognised that fact as a child, when observing the first generation of SoVII freaks. As much as I often find "traditionalists" annoying ... I'd rather deal with them any day.
It’s true that traditionalists can be annoying. Some of them seem to regard 1951 as the Golden Age and even insist on dressing as if they were in 1951; others are so nit-picking that they can turn a Mass into a hunt for tiny errors (was the priest’s maniple REALLY in the right place on his arm?). However, I think a lot of this comes from having been on the defensive for so many years, and I think that as the traditionalist influence grows and more people start going to the old mass - which will happen, whether the VatII fanatics like it or not - you’ll see a moderating trend.
