Growing up as I did an Iowa farm boy, that just makes my mouth water!

Yes, I am, wake up, when the CDC is reporting 1 in 10 pet owners are infected with worms from their animals you know it’s way worse than even that, testing for them is very difficult, America is about to wake up to the wool that has pulled over our eyes. America has a major parasite problem, in fact, due to international travel it’s gotten far worse. Misquitoes in Florida are now transmitting Dog heart worm to humans and so on, it’s worse than you know.

If I had the option I’d buy irradiated meat.

If you never eat pork, smoke cigars, drink whiskey or love a good woman you still won’t live forever... it’ll just seem like it!

As far as dietary law is concerned, I believe Jesus said what’s good comes out of a man, it doesn’t go into him.

“As far as dietary law is concerned, I believe Jesus said what’s good comes out of a man, it doesn’t go into him.”

True.

Matthew 15:10:

“10Jesus called the crowd to him and said, “Listen and understand. 11What goes into a man’s mouth does not make him ‘unclean,’ but what comes out of his mouth, that is what makes him ‘unclean.’ “

He IS right. I love everything he said not to eat, especially shrimp and lobster and crab. No wonder I’m sick.

Give the guy a break. He’s right in that pork was forbidden by God, anything with a cloven hoof was forbidden for health reasons. He’s right on.

AMEN. I feel the way you do. His messages are always uplifting. My son and his wife came back to church because they watched Joel Osteen. I will be eternally grateful for that. There are WAY too many critics of God’s people. God will not be happy with them.

He wasn’t lying. God forbids the eating of any meat from an animal with a cloven hoof.

I’ve never heard him preach on money, just on prosperity. If our soul prospers, everything else will fall into place.

If our souls prosper, WE will prosper. God WANTS to bless us but oftentimes we just go our merry way. Joel’s teachings are uplifting. I’ve never heard him preach on money, although he may have, it’s mostly just encouraging words to Christians.

Oh I have. I think he even charges for his coliseum events on the road.

ALL evangelists charge or take up a collection. Do you realize how many thousands of dollars these events cost, for rental, advertising, hotel accommodations? Nobody does it for nothing.

Hey, if you’re some kinda Judaizier who wants to ignore the plain meaning of Peter’s dream before meeting Cornelius, or Paul’s letters about putting an end to Mosaic dietary contributions, fine... believe what you want to believe. I’ve learned that there’s no arguing with people like you because the more absurdities I disprove, the more you invent. Whatever.

But Joel Osteen was lying. He didn’t say, “don’t eat pork because God forbids it.” He gave all sorts of false reasons why pork is supposed to be dirty and gross. These weren’t arguments based on scripture, they were designed to simply sicken people so they’d be afraid to eat pork. And he lied.

I recognise him from a picture I saw once connected with an article.

I am always wary of “television preachers”. I’m in the “power corrupts” group.

Not that I know enough about the guy to have an opinion one way or the other, but just as the bible proves itself, his sermons prove themselves. Which begs the question, what the heck is he doing preaching on this? It reminds me of seventh day adventist stuff and Ellen White and her pork sandwich.

Wonder how he feels about lobster. ;)

It’s very difficult to acquire sufficient protein from vegetarianism. Throughout history, totalitarian regimes have always exalted vegetarianism, because it makes protein deprivation makes people placid and mush-brained. From King John, who prevented hunting in the King’s Forest, to Adolf Hitler, who called it inhumane (!!!), to the Chinese genocidal maniacs who killed 100 million people in the name of eliminating poverty, to the Stalinists who claimed it represented egalitarianism, nearly all genocidal regimes have advocated vegetarianism.

That said, you CAN be a vegetarian and consume sufficient protein, but it’s a tricky balancing act of consuming just the right plant-based amino acids at just the right time so that your body can assemble the proteins as you metabolize the amino acids. (Technically, plants contain proteins, but these aren’t considered dietetic proteins because you’re body can’t metabolize them as proteins because they are lacking essential amino acids.)

And another thing!

People condemn eating “dirty” animals but forget that all animals are “nano technology machines”. That is, we consume raw material and turn it into something else. The source material from which an animal is “constructed” is not relevant when deciding whether or not to eat their flesh. What they have produced from that source is what matters.

Blueberries and nightshade come from the same dirt.

IOW, just his preaching on this subject from the pulpit seriously damages his credibility as a spiritual leader.
