Go to 1:34.

He is completely ignoring the vision of the three sheets, among other scripture.

The more I watch of this video, the more this guy is creeping me out. I still do not understand why he is preaching on this from the pulpit.

I suppose there are supplements to take that would help. Raw food is supposed to be the best for good health but taking a barley green drink is recommended and also Vitamin B supplements.

Peter’s dream had more to do with accepting all people, which Jews didn’t, and not so much about actual food.

Heh, heh. My bad. He mentions shellfish at 2:50.

The guy is like a snake oil salesman depending on ignorance within the listeners. Instead of discussing the digestive system of the pig or what shrimp and pigs eat, he should focus on the meat. What is in the stinking meat, not the food.

Maybe if a pig ate a couple of radioactive isotopes there would be something IN THE MEAT that was harmful to me.

This video is really creeping me out more. I can’t take this guy seriously. Looks like he’s a good speaker though.

He reminds me of a white Obama.

For me the rule is simple:

I only eat kosher pork.

Well, the butcher SAID it was kosher...

The Lord can’t provide for those events?

Yeah, like I said: however you interpret Peter’s dream, Joel Osteen taught something untrue, because he didn’t base his arguments on scripture, but on trying to gross people out with bad science.

Polish hams?

(ITS A JOKE! MY LAST POPE WAS POLISH AND HE WAS A GENIUS ... even if there are issues about his orthodoxy of worship)

>> I suppose there are supplements to take that would help. <<

Protein is a macronutrient. You can’t get it in pill form. They do sell protein powder (often used by weightlifters), but taking powdered protein hardly seems natural.

>> Raw food is supposed to be the best for good health <<

Mankind cannot digest most forms of raw plant food. Those who believe in evolution say we’ve lost our ability to digest it. And eating raw meat is just begging to get an infection.

>> but taking a barley green drink is recommended and also Vitamin B supplements. <<

Only if you’re diet is naturally deficient in a given B vitamin... and even then many B vitamins can be synthesized by the body under ideal conditions.

I wouldn’t recommend eating raw meat, but my husband and his best friend, who is of Lebanese ethnicity, love raw kibbe. Brrrr. I just eat pretty much what I want these days. I try to be careful of portions because of my diabetes and kidney failure (am on dialysis). I try to eat a lot of salads but had a hard time eating only raw foods (Hallelujah Acres recommendation). I’ll die of something but it won’t be starvation! LOL.

A lot of nutritionists believe the same thing, pork and pig products are bad for you.

Yes, He provides through the people who want to attend. I don’t have a problem with that. You pay for Christian concerts and other events. Gaither Homecoming charges plenty for their concerts but they sure are worth it.

I’m really trying to stick to the content of what he actually says, although the sheer size of that audience is interesting. I gotta admit that if I believed everything he said I would find him highly entertaining.

But since I don’t, the whole thing gives me the creeps. I can’t really describe it any better than that, other than what I have said previously about the content of what I am hearing him say.

Even ignoring Christianity, he has given no compelling reason (other than to those who are ignorant on biology) why I should not eat pork or anything else.

>>But he seems to preach that all life’s problems will just disappear when one becomes a Christ follower, and that is just pie-in-the-sky not true.<<

Actually, the opposite tends to be true. My wife and I like to say “what doesn’t kill us makes us stronger”.

One would be well served to educate themself on the way the apostles died. (Hint: it wasn’t in a retirement home watching Johny Carson reruns).

Precisely. What happens is your perception of them changes - greatly!

>>I wish that people who constantly disparage Joel would actually watch his program for a few weeks!<<

For the record, all my comments are based on what I am actually watching him say. I came to this with a clean slate.

It ain’t clean any more though. I do not like this guy.

You said “I watch his message quite often also. I truly love him.”

And then you said, “I had a 10-minute Youtube clip of one of his sermons, and he was literally promising that anyone who was born again would suddenly become wealthy within one year.”

YOu called that going overboard. I would have walked out and never listened to the guy again.

It reminds me too much of the great Genesis song:

“Joel’s teachings are uplifting”

I'm sure they are.
I think he be a great motivational speaker in the secular world.
But people need to test his teachings against what Scripture says.
Christ did not teach that following Him was a way to prosper financially. In fact He said His followers would suffer in many ways.

Osteen’s teachings do not say that.
