It’s been awhile. Hope you’re doing ok. Haven’t posted since the 7th I see. You’re in my prayers.
I started cycle #6 this week. Kinda tired. 1 month into the year and I fell into the prescription “donut hole”. Insulin now costs $3K/month. I have an application in with Novo Nordisk pharmaceuticals for assistance.

So very good to “hear” from you. Amazing this med “care” scene! I know of no one who can afford meds at these current prices without two insurance programs. Crazy. Makes me triple grrrr when it is good people like you. Praying you get help fast. Hard enough on you without these worries piled on top. Thanks again for checking in. Prayers continue on your behalf.
Good thing I have two insurances, which covers everything but phone calls....thank heavens.

Sleeping a lot. This stuff really takes the energy out of me.
This coming Tuesday I finish cycle #6. Starting with cycle #7 they intend to change to a different mix. I guess after a while toxicity becomes an issue.
One bright spot that happened this week. Last month the first Hospital started dunning me for the outstanding balance there. I bitched. A lot. Told them they failed to find multiple 4.5cm tumors so they did not deserve payment. They did not earn it. They did not do the job. This week the first Hospital wrote off all outstanding balances and sent me a formal apology. That alone saves me a little over $8,000.
Goodness MinuteGal. I hope you are doing much better now. Wow! Those medical bills add up fast! My local emergency room is over $800 just to sit on the gurney. A doctor is another $400 and then heaven forbid you need a tetanus shot or suture. I am paying $1200 for a wound requiring three stitches.
Thanks for the update. Great news about the hospital bill and their coming to their senses. A shame you had to put your foot down in the middle of everything else but glad they did the right thing. Prayers continue.
Update:
I have not updated in a while because there was nothing to report. I have been feeling ok, minimal side effects from the chemo. Last Tuesday they did a new CT Scan to see how the treatments were going. This Tuesday I met with the Dr. for the results which were mixed.
The 2 tumors on the plural wall are unchanged.
The cluster of tumors between the Heart & Sternum have grown.
Most of the tumors in the abdominal area have shrunk. A few remained the same size.
Thursday I have a Bone Scan to see if the cancer has spread to the bones.
Next Tuesday I start the third combination of Chemo cocktail with the hope it works better.
We had the heavy talk this time.
Surgery is not an option.
Radiation is not an option due to how far it has spread.
Remission is not an option.
There are a few more chemo cocktails they can try. The goal is to try and limit growth for as long as possible. Eventually they will run out of things to try.
I have 2 things going for me.
1- I have a history of not listening to Doctors.
2- I have placed myself in God’s Hands.
His Will

What a mixed bag of results. I am so sorry for that hard talk. You are right in that you have two of the best things going for you.
