Nope. No Pope.
You’re cute.
I worship in the Church founded by Christ, the Catholic Church.
Back off. Im happily married.
You'll need a time machine to undo history like that.
You have some definitional problems. You seem to think all Christians go to Heaven.
I believe Jimmy was not happy that the SBC would not adapt his liberal leanings and left it.

He is now in some weird branch that calls themselves Baptist, but does not show a close resemblance to it in many aspects.
Then, since we all sin, no one goes to Heaven.
Oh wait, that passage in John is not the entire Gospel...there's more to it.
It is very clear actually...Matthew 7:21
Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father who is in heaven.
Forgot to ping you to my post above.
Thanks!
That is the common Protestant mistranslation.” Says you !
I know that you guys hang on to Mathew 16 for dear life, because without the
Roman system’s interpretation of these verses, the house of cards falls.
Peter says that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and you and Rome would
have us believe that a man who Jesus will refer to as satan in just a few verses,
IS THE ROCK, instead of the ROCK being Himself, the Son of God for the
foundation of the church. I don’t think so.
In Paul’s letters to Timothy he warns him about activites of false teachers as
well as warning the Ephesian elders. In both cases one would expect that given
the danger of false teachers, that Paul would make reference to a higher
authority or source for sound doctrine to accomplish the work of ministry.
If there was to be some external source of authority in the form of the papacy,
a group of prophets, new scriptures, or any other extra-scriptural organization,
you would think the apostle Paul would have mentioned it, such as “Follow Peter’s
successors in Rome” He doesn’t, but instead says follow the word of God.
The proof of Sola Scripture is easy and simple. We know that only the scriptures
are God Breathed, why would anyone believe anything other than scripture is
from God ? There is no rational reason to look to any other source for sound
doctrine. Paul warned Timothy about false teachers, and instructed him to look
to the scriptures.
So now tell how you know that Mary and the dead saints hear your prayers ?
First, Jesus spoke to Satan who was using Peter to try and persuade Jesus to not go through with the God Plan of Salvation for 'any who will' via the Cross. Jesus was not chiding Peter directly. Yes, satan is that sneaky/evil/inveigling, to use Peter in such a perverse way.
Second, it is the revelation by inspiration of the Holy Spirit to which Jesus refers when he says that 'upon this rock I will build my Church.'
Number 8 is associated with the structure of the baptistry. It has to do with the symbolism of the Resurrection happening on the first day of the week, which is also the eighth day of the previous week. For that reason, the baptistry is usually of eight sides. Baptismal garments
This is one instance where the Catholics seem to be the least sensitive to the ritual form, and the Baptists -- the most sensitive.
I doubt that inmmersion was practiced exclusively by the Early Church, simply because the Middle East is a dry place. Besides we have this curious turn of the phrase by St. Peter: "Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, who have received the Holy Ghost?" (Acts 10:47). Admittedly, St. Peter may be using the expression rhetorically, but the literal meaning here is "refuse to give water", which suggests water brought in rather than the baptised going down to a pond or stream.
Luther, Cauvin, Zwingli, Knox, Machen, Hubbard, Smith, Young, Jones, etc.
We know that only the scriptures are God Breathed, why would anyone believe anything other than scripture is from God ?
If that is true, you must have the verse that proves it.
Sorry, I've never been to Rome and have no connection with it.
...would have us believe that a man who Jesus will refer to as satan in just a few verses...
Another common contortion of Scripture. Jesus was referring to Satan (who was using Peter at that moment). Peter was Pope, but he was still a man.
“Peter was Pope, but he was still a man.”
But how can that be, the pope is supposed to be perfect and infallible ? BTW, I'm still waiting to hear how you know that Mary and the dead saints hear your prayers?? Anyone ?

Obama Says A Baby Is A Punishment
Obama: If they make a mistake, I dont want them punished with a baby.
There is clearly controversy here, my advice - side with the Truth and be bold in defense of His Church.
...a man who Jesus will refer to as satan...
He was not referring to a man as Satan. He was referring to Satan, who in turn was using Peter at that moment.
But how can that be, the pope is supposed to be perfect...
Says who? Who said he's supposed to be perfect?
...and infallible?
Infallible on matters of faith while speaking ex cathedra and at no other time.
BTW, I'm still waiting to hear how you know that Mary and the dead saints hear your prayers??
I'm still waiting for the Scriptural support for sola Scriptura. Without that proof, your other demand is moot.
