No I am not making a huge assumption.
Why would the dead want to bear any suffering from earth? Isn’t Heaven suppossed to be the release of all earthly concerns?
So why pray to Jesus if anyone can answer your prayers?

I'm pretty confident that mine have gone on to eternal life. If you want to miss the opportunity to pray with them, cool. I'm not going to miss out.
