I ran across a line from Monty Python written on the white board at school, it read “Search for the grail in the castle”. Then numerous students wrote amusing graffiti around it. Then I had a thought that “the holy grail has never been lost”. That is, you can find it in every Catholic church, all over the world. Every one of those chalices holds the body and blood of Christ, and every one of them is held by the alter christus, thus every one has been held by Christ Himself. I called a friend of mine to tell him about the idea. And he said, “My friend, the holy grail has been on display in Valencia, Spain for nearly a thousand years.” He recommended I read the book entitled “St. Lawrence and the Holy Grail” by Janice Bennet. I went to Free Republic and did a search on grail, and found this article you posted a few years back. I went ahead and printed a color photo of the Holy Grail for my children to see. I read the description of it given by Anne Catherine Emmerich in volume IV of “The Life of Christ” last night after dinner. Her description of it matches the current article fairly well. She describes being able to see through it, which can be the case for a translucent bowl made out of a stone like onyx. She also describes that is has two handles, and a convex cover (which might now form the base). Anyway, I had no idea until a few days ago the the original cup was never lost. I think it is quite funny. The Catholic Church has the burial cloth of Christ, yet almost everyone believes it is a fake. The Catholic Church has put the holy grail on display for nearly a thousand years, and once again everyone, i.e. the world, thinks it is a fake. Hitler did not believe it. He sent agents to Barcelona to recover the holy grail from a monastery there based upon a Richard Wagner play! Anyway, I think it is quite profound that Pope Benedict, Pope John Paul II, and many other Popes have said mass with it. But it is also quite funny how blind some people are. Thanks for posting, even if slow pokes like me see it years after the fact!
