The pendulum is swinging back in the American Church. We just have to patiently wait until all the kooky baby boomer priests retire. The young men responding to the call now are not in it for the glory. It’s a very hard, lowly, and lonely road these days to be a priest and only those with true vocations will choose it.
The Holy Spirit is still guiding the Church and the scandals have placed priests back in the role Christ had in mind for them: servants of the Church. I feel great hope for the future of the American Church. It will be a smaller, but even more faithful Catholic Church that awaits the coming of Christ. The sobering thought is all those poor souls who are being so poorly taught the Catholic faith while we wait for the new generation of priests.
Beautifully said.
"What is happening in the Church will pass. Jesus Christ is the same, yesterday, today and forever." --Mother Teresa (paraphrased quote)
Nailed it.
My son is going into seminary next fall. He is as devout and conservative as they come. The liberal loons did not raise their children in the faith so most of them are not interested in entering seminary, they want to pursue lives of self satisfaction, not self giving. The ones who are entering semininary and convents today are the faithful remnant.
I look forward to the coming generation. Thank you to all the parents who remained faithful in the last generation who raised their children to be the remnant that will now become the mushroom cloud of holiness through the Holy Spirit. Revival, Renewal,Restoration.........Praise God!
