The staff in many dioceses, and at the Bishops; conference are liberals. Many at this level of the Church try to involve the Church in political matters, all at the same time while their friends in the Democratic Party prate about separation of Church and State. In the early ‘80s, many of the statements issued by the Bishop’s conference read like the ones from the DNC. Never mind that Catholic voters much preferred Reagan to the uber-WASP Mondale.
It seems as though a minority of bishops are now driving a review of the Church’s close association with liberal agencies. Men like Mahoney are now longer in the driver’s seat. Still the mushy middle of the Bishop’s conference is silent.
FReep mail me if you want on/off the list.
The Catholic Church was and will never be destroyed by any force known to mankind. It will live and prosper until the end of time.
“But Im hoping that at least support of ACORN will now be permanently ended.”
Yes, so the CC can get back to it’s real job of aiding and abetting illegal immigrants.
